I’m Meg and this is where I share my wholesome, crowd-pleasing recipes and entertaining tips. I think the art of the sit-down dinner party is dying and I am on a quest to bring it back by making recipes crowd-pleasing, easy-to-follow, economical, and wholesome.
I think that inviting people into your home is the most intimate act of kindness, and my all-time favorite thing to do is to have great conversation with family and friends over a bottle of wine and a home-cooked, candlelit dinner. You can find my tips on how to be a good host here and here.
Personally, I follow the paleo lifestyle of eating whole, unprocessed foods. I started eating and living this way after discovering the Whole30 and the Whole9 Life in Fall 2012, and I have never felt or performed better in my life. I do not force my views onto my friends or readers, but I welcome your questions and comments! When I’m entertaining, I include dishes for all to enjoy, and let my guests choose what they want to eat so that everyone feels comfortable. It’s an evolution, not a revolution. 🙂
I reside in a suburb of Chicago with my (non-paleo) husband who is in his fourth year of medical school. We both graduated from Cornell in upstate New York. You can find pictures and a film from our July 2011 wedding here.
When I’m not dreaming up recipes for the blog or hosting dinner parties, I’m working full-time for my family’s dermatology practice, doing bodyweight circuit training with The Betty Rocker, playing with our two adorable golden retrievers, or spending time with my six siblings at my family’s lake house in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin (the same lake mentioned in the poem above).
Please feel free to contact me – I love hearing your comments, questions, and funny stories! I am available for consultation for meal planning and entertaining advice, as well as private catering for dinner parties in the Chicagoland area. E-mails can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
